Subject: 1999 International Hillbilly eNewsletter, Issue #4

From: Gary Schweinshaupt garysch@trowel.com
Organization: Hillbilly mailing list

Hi cuzzins,

You have received this message because you have signed our guest
book at http://trowel.com/hillbilly99 , sent me an email about
the Hillbilly Convention or you have some connection with the
1999 International Hillbilly Convention. If you do not wish to be
on the email list for this newsletter, please email me at
mailto:garysch@trowel.com and ask to be removed. If you have
received this message from a friend and wish to be added to the
mail list, send a message to be added. If you know someone that
should be on our list, send me their name and email address and I
will add them. Your response to forward the last newsletter was
great, we had quite a number of cuzzins request to be on the
mailing list - thanks.

A big favor please, I send this eNewsletter out with the entire
TO: and CC: list to give you an idea of who is receiving it, it
would be inappropriate for any of you to use this list to spam
recipients for anything other than Hillbilly business. Since we
are all brothers, I know I shouldn't have to ask this, but I have
seen evidence that at least one person has used this list for
other purposes. We will all appreciate restraint in this matter,
thanks.

This is the fourth Official 1999 International Hillbilly
Convention eNewsletter, if you would like to see previous
newsletters, we are now keeping an archive on the Web home page.
We will try send out eNewsletters periodically to keep you
updated on what the convention officers are working on and to
provide you with details that we hope will help you all
have a great 1999 Hillbilly Convention.

This time we have added something new. So many of you have
written notes for help, offering help or offering entertainment,
that I have added some of your messages at the end of
this newsletter. We do so appreciate your interest and support.

You can help us by letting us know what you need that the Website
is not giving you and by letting every Hillbilly and every Clan
you have contact with, know about our Website. Please forward
this newsletter to other cuzzins or temple members that you think
might be interested. To be successful, we need EVERYONE to know
our Website is available. PLEASE HELP!

Best regards,

Gary Schweinshaupt, Webmaster

From: "Jim Harris" <jimac@wwd.net> Imperial Clan Raban

I am a rank beginner at this computer and e-mail message
business. I worked as a Professional Engineer at Armco steel
plant here for many years and had a group of about 50 assorted
Engineers working under my supervision. About 5 or 6 years before
I retired the top brass decided to put the Engineering Dept. on
computers and gave me six of them which I promptly assigned to
Engineers. I soon discovered that most of the computer time was
spent on games. I shuffled the things around and took early
retirement when the Japanese purchased half of the steel plant.
As WW2 vet with front line duty I could not work with the Japs.
So I had no computer experience Last Sept. I became fully aware
of the computer growth and purchased myself one for Christmas.
Wow! I soon found out that I had a heap of learning to do. I
concentrated on e-mail and got a fairly good handle on it.

Believe it or not, my first venture into the Internet was the
Hillbilly99 Website. That is true.

(Webmaster's Note: Imperial Raban Jim and 'Maw' confirmed they
will be with us in Sarasota for the convention).

Jim Harris wrote in the Hillbilly99 guestbook:

This WEB IS FANTASTIC! Shows what good men can do if they are
working for a good cause and enjoy it. That is what has made the
Hillbilly Degree grow like it has. You have set the
pace for all future Hillbilly Conventions.

Maw and me have attended every Convention, there are really only
two kinds; Good and Better. We have an added incentive for this
Convention; your Grand Raban of the Imperial Clan has twin great
grand children living in the area. Twin girls, that might be a
clue to my age.

The greatest achievement in my life was originating the Hillbilly
Degree. Never in my wildest dreams could I imagine what all you
fine Hillbilly nobles and gals have done with this Degree. Surely
you are the finest people in the world. Thanks to all of you. Is
the Hillbilly Degree still growing? Clan 159 in AL ASKA Temple
Anchorage, Alaska Oct. 1998 and Clan 160 in EL KARUBAH Temple
Shreveport, LA Dec. 1998. More to come.

We invite you to come to the 23rd Annual Hillbilly Days Festival
in Pikeville, Kentucky on April 15, 16, and 17 of 1999. We have

So far in planning, we have a carnival planned in the river fill
again this year, over 200+ arts and crafts booths and of course,
lots of food, traditional Bluegrass and country music
from local performers. One of which is The Mule Band with Larry
Webster.

Thursday is to be the Welcoming Ceremony at the city park from
5-6 p.m.. music from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. all three days, and
Saturday, the big parade starts lining up at 11 a.m. and steps
off around town at 2 p.m.

Come join us in the miracle of the mountains for Hillbilly Days
1999. If you have any questions on the parade, call 606-427-6950,

This was too good (bad?) not to share!

Kudzu is green, my dog's name is Blue
And I'm so lucky to have a sweet thang like you.

Yore hair is like cornsilk A-flapping in the breeze.
Softer than Blue's And without all them fleas.

You move like the bass, Which excite me in May.
You ain't got no scales But I luv you anyway.

You're as graceful as okry Jist a-dancin' in the pan.
Yo're as fragrant as SunDrop Right out of the can.

You have all yore teeth, For which I am proud;
I hold my head high When we're in a crowd.

On special occasions, When you shave yore armpits,
Well, I'm in hawg heaven, I'm plumb outta my wits.

Still them fellers at work They all want to know,
What I did to deserve Such a purty, young doe.

Like a good roll of duct tape Yo're there fer yore man,
To patch up life's troubles And stick 'em in the can.

Yo're as strong as a four-wheeler Racin' through the mud,
Yet fragile as that sanger Named Naomi Judd.

Yo're as cute as a junebug A-buzzin' overhead.
You ain't mean like no fire ant Upon which I tread.

Cut from the best pattern Like a flannel shirt of plaid,
You sparked up my life Like a Rattletrap shad.

When you hold me real tight Like a padded gunrack,
My life is complete; Ain't nuttin' I lack.

Yore complexion, it's perfection, Like the best vinyl sidin'.
Despite all the years, Yore age, it keeps hidin'.

And when you get old Like a '67 Chevy,
Won't put you on blocks And let grass grow up heavy.

Me 'n' you's like a Moon Pie With a RC cold drank,
We go together Like a skunk goes with stank.

Some men, they buy chocolate For Valentine's Day;
They git it at Wal-Mart, It's romantic that way.

Some men git roses On that special day
>From the cooler at Kroger. "That's impressive," I say.

Some men buy fine diamonds From a flea market booth.
"Diamonds are forever," They explain, suave and couth.

But for this man, honey, These will not do.
For you are too special, You sweet thang you.

I got you a gift, Without taste nor odor,
Better than diamonds it's a new trollin' motor!

Hello Cuzin's

I am from the Sudan Hillbilly Clan # 58. I am wondering if you by
chance have any "HILLBILLY CLIP ART" available?

Yes, I am looking for some to help some decor to various
Hillbilly documents.

If you have it for sale, or possibly tell me where I can download
it, I would surely appreciate it.

Thanks,

Subject: Masonic Campground

From: Cuznzelda2@aol.com

I thought it might be a good idea if you could tell RV'ers who
are coming to the convention about the campground, since all of
them are Masons. Here goes:

The name of the park is "Masonic Park & Youth Camp". It is about
35 Miles south of Tampa, on Highway 30, located at Wimauma, FL,
which is 3 miles south of Sun City Center. It would
only be about a 30-minute drive into Sarasota.

The rates are $210.00 per month, and I think it is $8.00 per
night. There are no sewer hook-ups, but there is a dump station
in the park, or they do come around on Tuesdays and
Thursdays and pump for you at a cost of $5.00. You feel very
secure in the park, because everyone is "one big, happy family".

If you need further information, let me know soon, because we
leave tomorrow morning, and do not have E-mail down there.

Sincerely,
Mabel Ruth Johnson
