Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on Oct 7, 1993, at Sarasota Lodge No. 147, Jerry worked his way through the chairs to become Worshipful Master of that Lodge in 2001; then served as Marshal a second time and several years as Lodge Instructor; appointed District Instructor for the Grand Lodge two terms in 2004-05 and 2005-06, and is a past president of the District 27 Master Mason Association.

He is a 32nd Degree KCCH Knight Commander Court of Honor, and currently Chancellor in the Consistory, Valley of Tampa, Orient of Florida, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Southern Jurisdiction, USA.  There he participates in the 4th, 5th, 14th, and 28th Degrees, is Degree Master of the 21st Degree and has earned multiple Knight of the Double Eagle service awards.

In the York Rite Bodies of Florida, Jerry is Past High Priest of Sarasota Chapter No. 35, Past District Deputy Grand High Priest of Royal Arch Masons of Florida and a Past Illustrious Master of Venice Council No. 41 Royal & Select Masters of Florida.  He is currently the Generalissimo of Trinity Commandery No.16 Knights Templar, Principal Sojourner of Sarasota Royal Arch Chapter, Junior Knight in the Mystic Brotherhood of Knight Masons, Herald for Saint Sebastian Conclave of the Red Cross of Constantine, a Companion Knight in the Pentagon York Rite College and appointed to the Florida Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons Committee for Membership Development & Masonic Relations and Blue Lodge Representative.  He is a 2006 recipient of the Ish Sodi Award of the Grand Council of Royal & Select Masters of Florida and a 2007 Gold Key recipient awarded by the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Florida.

Sahib Shrine achievements include Temple Emeritus Ritual Unit Director of Work, Past Commodore of the Mariners Unit and currently serves as Senior Advisor to the Sheiks Unit, and is a standing Co-Chairman of the annual Sahib/Masonic District 27 Rusty Mason Night.

Joyce Goacher, Jerry’s wife of 47 years, is the Associate Princess of Sar-I Court No. 79, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America.
